AREA INFORMATION

When you plan to travel to our farm from another state or even from in Vermont, you may need current information about the roads, the weather and other information. Here are some sources of good information. You will note that we didn't include Map Quest or other GPS sources. A good rule of thumb in Vermont is not to trust GPS and services using GPS once you leave the blacktop and travel "back roads". You will find our directions to our farm under either Wholesale or Choose & Cut.

You should also be aware that "all-season" tires are not the same as "Winter" tires. If you don't have winter tires and the forecast is for snow, sleet, freezing rain, you need to, at the very least, go slow and careful. You may want to pick a different day to come to our farm. Rental cars almost never have Winter tires.

Please be aware that while the interstates and the state highways are maintained 24/7, town roads, particularly gravel roads, may only be plowed twice a day. Once in the early morning so residents can go to work and school and once in the late afternoon so residents can go home. We are lucky in Brookfield to have a very good highway department that is aware of our tree farm days and hours.
