We start cutting greens after we have had some hard frosts so that the needles will be retained longer. As the climate warms, that has been occurring increasingly later. We hope to start cutting the last weekend of October or the first weekend of November. We plan to finish cutting the greens by the end of the second weekend of November. Your order is stored in our natural storage area to minimize the effect of sun and wind on the bundles.
Greens are packaged in 50-pound bundles tied with twine. Greens can be packaged in 25-pound bundles at increased cost. We are often asked how large a truck will we need? As a guide: a ½ ton pickup truck with good stakes on the sides and ratchet straps or strong rope can generally hold about 10 bundles safely. Pickups with a short body may hold less. Trailers are too varied for us to suggest what you can hold. Good side boards or stakes with places to use ratchet straps or strong ropes will increase the capacity of nearly any open trailer. Closed trailers generally hold a little less.
TERMS: a 50% deposit is required. The balance is due upon pick up.
